Core Mechanic: CCCS (Colour Coordinated Combat System)
The player has access to 3 guns, each gun fires a different colour laser. Enemies are equipped with corresponding coloured shields, which protects them from all other coloured lasers, however if they are shot with the same colour, they lose their shield and can now be killed by any laser.
Unfortunately due to time constraints such as 3 major university assignments including this one being due in the same time period my team and myself were unable to dedicate enough time to this assignment. Which unfortunately lead to the lack of quality on this assignment. I had managed to program the basic gameplay mechanics such as my CCCS mechanic a couple months beforehand. Unfortunately the final product of this game bares no resemblance on the original game idea. If I was to undertake such a large project again I would keep the same team, but I would insist we would work on the assignment at the same time a few months prior, as many components of the game were spread out over a 2 week time frame. Their skill-set was greatly appreciated and it is unfortunate that not all of their content was implemented in the game due to last minute submissions.
